INTESOL Alumni Panel: The Future of TESOL in the Age of AI
Welcome to an exciting morning at the International TESOL Conference where we embrace innovation and the critical role of effective, trained educators. Today's program features selected, distinguished INTESOL alumni who employ their TESOL training within one of the emerging frontiers of education, AI. Our alumni will engage through four themes, and from there, they will provide practical examples, innovations, and critical reflections that unite TESOL practices and methodologies with AI technologies. From leveraging AI in lesson planning to grappling with ethics in using digital assessment, they will present real-life examples of how their training benefitted them as educators to be able to enact leadership in their work as the educational landscape continues to rapidly unfold and expand. Please join us as we ignite this exciting morning of performance, presentations, and panel conversation showcasing how AI is changing English language teaching.

Are you attending the INTESOL Conference and want to extend your experience beyond the venue? We invite all conference participants to take part in a post-conference day trip to the Mekong Delta Vietnam—an exciting chance to experience the cultural hub of southern Vietnam while mingling with fellow educators from around the globe. The day trip will offer a relaxed atmosphere that involves boat rides, local food, and stimulating conversation about the global education landscape, surrounded by beautiful nature. If it's your first time in Vietnam or your are returning, this day trip will offer connection and inspiration.
1 DAY NON-TOURIST SIDE OF THE MEKONG DELTA
HOA DINH Boat Station - TAM HIEP Islet - BEN TRE Province – HCM (Lunch)

We will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 7:30 AM and begin our journey with a scenic two-hour drive to Ben Tre Province. Upon arrival, we'll board a boat at Hoa Dinh Station, crossing the majestic Mekong River to reach Vam Ho Bridge on Tam Hiep Islet.
Our adventure continues with a guided walk along peaceful village paths, passing through a lush 1,300-hectare area leading to the district’s well-known organic longan garden. Along the way, you’ll experience authentic rural life—passing homes where locals raise cattle and poultry, and enjoying the tranquility of the countryside.
We’ll then stop at a local family home to enjoy a refreshing cup of honey tea, a selection of tropical fruits, traditional sponge cake, and observe how coconut handicrafts and palm brooms are made by hand.
Next, relax on a charming sampan boat ride, gliding between banks lined with Nipa palm trees—a serene and uniquely Mekong Delta experience. You’ll also have the chance to pedal through the nearby village, visit a traditional home where ginseng leaves (lá sâm) are processed, and taste this delicious herbal jelly known for its cooling properties.
Enjoy a leisurely 4-kilometre bicycle ride through scenic rural landscapes, offering a glimpse into the daily life along canals and local homes. We'll then stop for a hearty lunch at a local homestay, serving traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
Before heading back, we’ll visit a coconut shell charcoal workshop—perfect for capturing memorable photos. Finally, our guide and vehicle will transfer you back to Ho Chi Minh City, concluding a rich and immersive day in the Mekong Delta.
